Emily Gates Prucha teaches English and writes about raising multilingual children in the Czech Republic – the land of beer, castles, and Krtek (The Little Mole).

For more than a decade, her stories about Czech lifestyle, traditions, and culture were published at Half-n-Half for The Prague Daily Monitor and Prague.TV and reprinted on other websites.

In addition to writing personal essays and articles, Emily copy edits, translates (Czech/English), and pursues other freelance opportunities.

She has given presentations about the Czech educational system to the Rotary Club in the U.S. and to American university students visiting Prague.

She is currently working on a memoir about her journey to find a home that doesn’t have a zip code.

As far as Czech traditions go, she doesn’t like being whipped at Easter, but having a carp swimming in her bathtub at Christmas suits her fine.

If you have a project that needs a writer/editor/translator/presenter, please contact Emily at emily@halfnhalf-life.com.
